Guess How Many

Get a large bag of candy and a big see-through jar or container. You can use a jar filled with jelly beans, Hershey kisses, gumballs, or even funny shaped sweet tarts. Fill the container with as much candy as you possibly can. Make sure you count the number of pieces of candy as you put them in.

As guests arrive ask them to look at the container and write on a slip of paper their name and how many items they think are inside. The guest who comes closest to the actually number wins!

If you place a mix of candy in the jar, not only does it give a nice assortment as a prize, it can also make it much more difficult to guess how many are actually inside the jar. Try mixing miniature candy bars with M&M or red hots and it will really be a challenge!

“Postage Paid” Bridal Shower Raffle

Buy “Thank you” cards for the bride to use after the bridal shower. Set up a small table or area where you can place the stack of “stamped” envelopes from the cards. Supply some pens and a large bowl or bucket as well. As guests arrive have them put their name and address on one of the postage paid envelopes and place it in the bowl.

During the event (or at the end) have the bride mix up all the envelopes in the bowl and pull a winner for a prize.

After the party present the bride with the thank you cards and stamped, addressed envelopes. This is a great way to have a door prize contest that also give the bride a gift that is much more appreciated than you would think.

Note: You can place stamps on the envelopes after the raffle in case a guest messes up while writing you won’t lose the stamp. Just make sure to place the stamps on the envelopes before presenting them to the bride as a gift.

As your guests arrive “sell” them their tickets and give them one ticket for every item they bring, placing half in a jar or bucket and giving the guest the other half. Some guests will end up with 1 or 2 tickets, other guests may end up with 10 or more tickets, but the bride-to-be will walk away the winner with all her soon-to-be much needed kitchen supplies.

Lucky Penny

This game is the perfect door prize game, and usually a nice surprise for the winner. Take a penny and tape it under one of the chairs your guests will be using. Don’t let on about the penny until after all the guests have arrived and are seated. Then ask your guests to look under their seats. The guest who finds the lucky penny taped to their chair wins a prize!

For a more personal touch you could use a small photo of the bride, or of the couple, to tape under the chair. For a themed event, use an item to match the theme such as a flower for a garden party or shell for a beach themed shower. Just make sure that you can’t see the item taped under the chair until they are looking for it or some of your guests might catch on.
