Weddings have a ton of traditions… rice, rings, something old, new, borrowed, and blue. But do you and your guests know WHY we do them? Why does the Groom throw the garter? (It’s to distract the guests so they keep their hands off the Bride, of course!)
Your guests will have tons of fun, and maybe learn a few things, as they race to be the first to matching all the wedding customs and traditions to the sometimes bizarre, but always entertaining, superstitions and folktales that started it all!
Directions
Print out a sheet for each player. Have your guests match the wedding custom to the folktale or superstition it came from. When everyone is done the one with the most correct wins. For larger parties you can set a time limit and the most correct answers after 5 or 10 minutes wins.
